The second season of Halo Infinite is launched this week almost half a year after the official release and finally supplies the shooter with long-awaited new content for Free2Play multiplayer mode. So while there is a luminous float on the horizon, developer 343 industries behind the scenes is supposedly already accessible with a new halo part.
Where does the rumor come from? From the well-networked Windows Central journalist Jez Corden, who spoke in the Xbox Two-Podcast about the possible new Halo. He was not "100 % sure", but "quite" that 343 works on a new halo that is not Halo Infinite, "said Corden.
He had said something similar about a year ago. At that time, however, Corden was even more specific and said that the additional Halo project was a "spinoff".

Although it is of course so far a rumor that has not been confirmed by Microsoft, it would not necessarily be surprising if 343 industries behind closed doors were at least partially devoted to a new game - whether a new part or a spinoff had been put there.
Tobias Veltin @Frischerveltin
Tobi has had Halo Infinite dust more and more in the past few months, the motivation was no longer really there in the multiplayer. Despite "only" two new maps, he hopes for a new thrust from Season 2-and is excited to see what the halo future brings.
Infinite is far from finished
Nevertheless, this rumor leaves me a bland aftertaste and even lets me sigh a little. Because if 343 industries had completely delivered to Halo Infinite, I could understand that you are also thinking about the future. However, there is still a lot in the Argen at Infinite.
Because the multiplayer, for example, is massive under too little content, especially with the maps, and Season 2 will only help to a limited extent. In addition, I and several others are still waiting for the co-op campaign and the Forge mode, both are only completed at a later date. And the campaign is actually really suitable for extensions in the form of DLCs, for which there have already been a few rumors. Infinite is far from being finished.
Here is the trailer to the Season 2 content:
Halo Infinite was planned as a live service platform for many years-hence the name-probably the concentration on a new game would be pretty counteracting in my eyes and above all worrying about the future of Infinite.
More about Halo Infinite:
Halo Infinite soon loses the most useful glitch in the campaign * Halo Infinite multiplayer should go in one direction that many would have been angry *
With all of this, of course, I know that it is so far a rumor and that Halo Infinite will also accompany us for a long time away from these rumors. In addition, it is rather normal than the exception that large studios work on several projects at the same time. And: As a fan of the series, I would of course also look forward to a new part/spinoff. Nevertheless: For Infinite, the current shift would not be a good sign - even if only part of the studio. Perhaps we will find out in June at the Microsoft & Bethesda Games Showcase whether there is something on the whole.
